Q: Thank you for joining us, Mr. Pawley. When did your election take place?
Ronald J. Pawley: I joined the Church of the Master's board of trustees in 2001. The vote actually occurred while I was away on vacation and was decided unanimously, which came as quite an honor.
Q: I understand the church was going through many difficulties. What was the trouble?
Ronald J. Pawley: When I joined, the church faced significant financial problems and asked for my advice on how to assist.
Q: What were the problems and what did you do to help?
Ronald J. Pawley: The church dealt with high overhead costs and low income from a dwindling congregation. I analyzed all the problems and concluded that the church should sell its property or risk going under and losing everything.
Q: What did selling the property entail?
Ronald J. Pawley: We formed a committee, which I co-chaired, and worked for a solid year to sell the Church of the Master. After the sale, we began the long and emotional process of distributing proceedings from the sale and bringing the ministry to a close.
